APPROACHES TO MUSIC
In this short course we introduce four different approaches developed since the 19th century up until now. Understanding the different approaches to music is crucial to understanding the nature of music as an immersive learning resource, and how to consider using music within your setting.
SAFETY IN MUSIC PRACTICE
This course shows how young children’s musicality and musical play can be enabled in safe and practical ways.
We discuss Safeguarding - how to support children engaging in music and movement safely, how to consider a safe space and the sort of resources you can make available for music making without restricting creative freedom to musically explore.
UNDERSTANDING AND ENABLING MUSICAL PLAY
This in-depth course discusses the significance of
multi-sensory engagement and how this can support early experiences, development and vocalising. Key aspects of music will be explained with lots of
practical ideas, downloadable literature, songs, rhymes and resources for you to enjoy in music making with nursery and pre-nursery ages.
MUSICAL PLAY IN PRACTICE
The last course in this series packs a punch with practical, theoretical and reflective activities, downloads and quizzes to immerse everything you need to know about music in children's earliest development, play and learning. You will be shown how to teach music effectively, how to engage individuals and groups together through spontaneous and structured music making. There are masses of activities to try out and useful pathways to refer to in practice.
